ABOUT SCHEMSHAN
At Semschan Welfare Society’s Animal Rescue Centre (ARC) in Leh, Ladakh, every dog matters. We rescue, heal, and care for injured, abandoned, and vulnerable dogs with love and dignity. Our mission is to give them warmth, safety, and hope for a better life. We envision a kinder community where people and animals live in harmony.
WHAT WE DO
We provide medical care, shelter, and daily nourishment with dignity and love. Our team rescues dogs from the streets, offering them safety and healing. We run sterilisation and feeding programs to reduce suffering in the community. Through rescue, care, and awareness, we work towards a kinder world for animals.

ADOPTION
To rescue, heal, and protect stray and injured dogs in Ladakh. We provide food, shelter, and medical care, ensuring every life is valued and treated with compassion.

Your support helps us feed over 650 dogs daily, provide medical care to the injured, and shelter those who have no home. Every contribution — big or small — goes directly to food, medicines, rescues, sterilisation drives, and building a safe haven for Ladakh’s strays. Together, your kindness keeps tails wagging.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
